Why does neuropathy keep happening after an injury?

Nerve symptoms can continue when an injury affects nearby tissues or the neurological system. A medical history review and focused evaluation help identify what needs attention. Related neck pain, back pain, whiplash, or sciatica can change the care plan. New or worsening symptoms should be discussed with the care team so the next step is based on findings.

Neuropathy Treatment Decisions for Fairview Patients

Neuropathy treatment focuses on symptoms such as numbness, tingling, burning, weakness, or altered sensation. The right plan depends on the health history, the suspected cause, and whether an accident affected the neck, back, or other tissues.

This page helps Fairview patients decide what information to bring before an assessment. Our team reviews the event, symptoms, prior care, and related conditions before discussing options. Free initial consultations give patients time to discuss diagnostic needs and treatment choices.

Nutritional support is one possible part of a broader plan. It does not replace medical assessment, and individual response differs. Nerve stimulation, manual therapy, or movement exercises may also be discussed when they fit the findings.

  • Record when numbness, tingling, burning, or weakness began.
  • Bring details about any car accident, workplace incident, or fall.
  • List current medicines, health conditions, and prior treatment.
  • Ask how neurological and musculoskeletal findings affect the care plan.

Process

How We Build a Neuropathy Care Plan

1

Review symptoms and health history

The new patient intake records symptom changes, medical history, prior treatment, and any accident details.

2

Assess neurological and body findings

Medical professionals and chiropractors examine the reported concern and consider how the musculoskeletal and neurological systems relate.

3

Explain the report of findings

The care team explains the findings and answers questions about possible treatment options in plain language.

4

Set an individualized care plan

The plan may include coordinated chiropractic treatment, medical evaluation, manual therapy, movement exercises, or other suitable options.

5

Review progress and records

Follow-up care checks how symptoms respond and updates the plan when the findings or patient needs change.

How We Approach Neuropathy Care

Assessment before treatment choices

The first decision comes from symptoms, health history, and examination findings. Neuropathy care is the wrong fit when another medical issue needs a different form of evaluation.

Options explained in plain language

Our care team explains what each option is meant to address, including manual therapy, movement exercises, or nerve stimulation when those options fit.

Records that support follow-up

We document relevant symptoms and injury details, which helps patients and referring parties understand the care plan.

This is the most friendliest and efficient doctor’s office I ever visited. The lady at the front desk !!!! AMAZING. Great customer service. The doctor asks perfect questions and made me feel comfortable and confident with my treatment plan. Highly recommended for all patients. Even if you’re just learning to walk again! The equipment and service provided is well worth the visit.

My fiancé & I was in an accident on 4/16/2024 and since we started treatment at the clinic the staff has been very helpful. They’re very professional, polite& efficient. Dr. Roberts always make sure that she ask us if we’re ok before and after treatment. She also makes sure that we clearly understand the process and answers any question’s or concerns that we may have. I would recommend her to anyone that needs proper treatment after an injury.

Questions About Neuropathy Care

To set clear expectations, what methods are used for neuropathy treatment before the crew arrives on site?

Nutritional support is one method we may discuss after reviewing symptoms and health history. Other options may include nerve stimulation, manual therapy, and movement exercises. The care team also considers medical evaluation and chiropractic findings. Each method has a different role, so the plan follows the patient's symptoms rather than a fixed set of services.

How does the first neuropathy appointment move from intake to treatment?

The first appointment starts with an intake and health history before the care team discusses findings and options.

  1. We record symptoms and injury details.
  2. Medical and chiropractic staff assess the concern.
  3. The team explains the report of findings.
  4. An individualized plan is discussed.

Patients can ask questions before choosing the next step.

What should I bring after a car accident for Neuropathy Treatment?

Accident details, medical records, and a list of current medicines help the care team assess nerve symptoms. Include when the symptoms began, where they occur, and whether they changed after the crash. Notes about prior treatment can also help. Fairview patients may discuss documentation needs during a free initial consultation.

Which symptoms make this type of care worth discussing?

Burning, tingling, numbness, weakness, or altered sensation are useful reasons to discuss a focused evaluation. Neck pain, back pain, whiplash, or sciatica may also affect the assessment. Symptoms after a workplace incident or fall should be documented. The care team uses the full history to decide which options fit.

Why might manual therapy be included with nerve care?

Manual therapy may address soft tissue and movement concerns that occur alongside nerve symptoms. The care team considers the examination findings before including it. This approach keeps the focus on the patient's full condition, not one symptom alone. Results vary, and the plan can change as follow-up findings develop.

How does nutritional support fit an individualized plan?

Nutritional support may be discussed when the health history makes it relevant to the care plan. It does not replace medical evaluation or address every cause of nerve symptoms. Our team reviews the person's history and explains the role of each option. Patients should share current medicines and health conditions before making changes.

What decides whether movement exercises belong in my plan?

Movement exercises fit when the assessment shows that controlled activity supports the patient's needs. The care team considers pain, weakness, mobility, injury history, and neurological findings before discussing exercises. Patients receive an explanation of the purpose and limits of each option. Exercises should follow the plan provided by the care team.
