TMJ Treatment in Smyrna, Tennessee for jaw-related symptoms

This service fits people whose jaw pain, swelling, clicking, stiffness, or limited movement began after an injury or continues without a clear answer. We look at the jaw complaint alongside the neck, head, and broader musculoskeletal system.

The key decision is whether your symptoms need focused jaw care, medical follow-up, chiropractic treatment, or coordinated support. Our team reviews your history and symptoms before explaining the available path. Results vary, so the plan is built around your needs rather than a fixed routine.

  • Tell us when the jaw symptoms began and what makes them worse.
  • Mention any accident, workplace incident, fall, neck pain, headaches, or facial soreness.
  • Note whether your jaw locks, your bite feels different, or chewing has become difficult.
  • Bring relevant medical records or accident details when available.

Process

How we assess and treat jaw symptoms

1

Complete the new patient intake

We record your symptoms, health history, accident details, and concerns about chewing or jaw movement.

2

Review jaw and related symptoms

Our medical professionals and chiropractors examine the reported problem and consider nearby neck and musculoskeletal concerns.

3

Explain the report of findings

We discuss what the evaluation shows and explain treatment options in clear, everyday language.

4

Build the care plan

We develop an individualized treatment plan that may include coordinated chiropractic treatment and medical evaluation.

5

Track the response to care

Progress is reviewed as care continues, and the plan is adjusted when your symptoms or needs change.

What to consider before choosing jaw care

A plan based on examination findings

Jaw symptoms can overlap with neck pain, headaches, and muscle strain. We use the intake, health history, and examination to explain the best-fit care path.

Plain answers about treatment options

Patients receive clear treatment option explanations before care begins. Our team discusses what each option addresses and how it relates to the reported symptoms.

When another evaluation fits better

This service isn't the right first step for every jaw problem. Severe trauma, major facial injury, or symptoms needing a different medical specialty may require further medical evaluation.

Jaw-focused care and related evaluation

These care paths address different questions, so the examination helps determine which one fits.

This is the most friendliest and efficient doctor’s office I ever visited. The lady at the front desk !!!! AMAZING. Great customer service. The doctor asks perfect questions and made me feel comfortable and confident with my treatment plan. Highly recommended for all patients. Even if you’re just learning to walk again! The equipment and service provided is well worth the visit.

My fiancé & I was in an accident on 4/16/2024 and since we started treatment at the clinic the staff has been very helpful. They’re very professional, polite& efficient. Dr. Roberts always make sure that she ask us if we’re ok before and after treatment. She also makes sure that we clearly understand the process and answers any question’s or concerns that we may have. I would recommend her to anyone that needs proper treatment after an injury.

Questions patients ask about jaw symptoms

For TMJ Treatment, how does the first jaw evaluation work?

The first evaluation reviews your symptoms, health history, jaw movement, and related musculoskeletal concerns.

  1. We complete the new patient intake.
  2. We examine the reported problem.
  3. We explain findings and treatment options.

Diagnostic needs are discussed when the clinical picture calls for them, and the plan reflects your individual needs.

What should I bring to a jaw consultation?

Relevant medical records, accident details, and a list of current symptoms help us understand the problem. Note when pain or swelling began, what affects chewing, and whether the jaw locks. Workplace injury details also help our team prepare accurate documentation when that applies.

Which symptoms should I describe before treatment begins?

Jaw movement limits, chewing trouble, facial soreness, headaches, neck pain, and changes in your bite are useful details. Share when each symptom began and whether an accident preceded it. Clear history helps our medical professionals and chiropractors match the examination and treatment discussion to your needs.

Why might jaw care include a medical evaluation?

A medical evaluation helps assess jaw symptoms that overlap with injury, facial structures, or broader health concerns. Chiropractic treatment may address related musculoskeletal findings, but the care path should match the examination. Our team coordinates these perspectives when the symptoms call for more than one type of review.

Can accident-related jaw pain be documented?

Accident-related jaw pain can be documented through the health history, examination findings, and injury records. We review the event and related symptoms with you during intake. For workplace-related injuries, our team can prepare detailed reports, while other cases receive documentation suited to the care discussion.
