How does a chiropractor diagnose the source of back pain?

A chiropractor uses movement screening, pain history, spinal examination, neurological testing, and imaging review when clinically indicated. These steps help connect symptoms with possible musculoskeletal or neurological concerns. Medical evaluation adds another view when an accident or workplace injury may involve more than the spine. Care then follows the findings, not a preset routine.

Back Pain Treatment in Berry Hill for Injury-Focused Evaluation

Back pain treatment here is built for people whose symptoms began after a car accident, workplace incident, slip and fall, or another personal injury event. The work starts with the story of the injury, the pain pattern, and changes in movement. It then connects those details with a spinal exam and related clinical findings.

This page serves a specific buyer need: understanding how the source of back pain is assessed before treatment choices are made. A plan may include chiropractic treatment, medical follow-up, injury records, or a referral when another type of care is needed.

The key decision is whether your symptoms fit coordinated chiropractic and medical care. Severe or changing symptoms need prompt medical attention, and individual results vary. A consultation gives you a place to discuss diagnostic needs and treatment options before choosing a plan.

  • Bring a clear account of when the pain began and what caused the injury.
  • Note pain that travels into the leg, numbness, weakness, or changes in movement.
  • Share past diagnoses, treatment records, and relevant health history.
  • Ask how chiropractic care and medical evaluation will work together.
  • Request injury documentation when a workplace or personal injury claim requires records.

Coordinated chiropractic and medical care helps address musculoskeletal concerns while keeping broader injury needs in view.

Individualized plans account for your health history, injury details, and current movement limits.

Detailed records can support communication about a workplace injury or personal injury event.

What this back pain approach gives you

Findings before treatment choices

The care plan follows the health history, spinal examination, and related testing. This helps match care to your needs instead of applying one routine to every back complaint.

Chiropractic and medical input

Our team considers both musculoskeletal and neurological concerns. Clear explanations help you understand how each treatment option relates to the findings.

Records for injury claims

Workplace and personal injury cases may need detailed records. We can help document the injury and prepare reports when that support fits the case.

When another service fits better

Back pain care is not the right answer for every symptom. Worsening neurological signs or a concern outside our care should be discussed with the appropriate medical service.

Process

How our team assesses and treats back pain

1

Record the pain history

We document when the pain began, how the injury happened, what worsens it, and how it affects movement.

2

Complete the spinal examination

The examination checks spinal movement, tenderness, posture, and related physical findings.

3

Check neurological signs

Neurological testing looks for changes that could involve nerves along with the muscles and joints.

4

Review needed imaging

We review available imaging when clinical findings show that it could help explain the injury.

5

Explain the findings

The care team discusses the findings and explains which treatment options fit the patient’s needs.

6

Set the care plan

We create an individualized plan that may include chiropractic treatment, medical follow-up, and progress review.

This place is amazing. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and laid back. Not much of a wait. The doctor walks you through every step and tells you what he’s going to do and has answers any questions I’ve had to the best of his knowledge. Normally I am afraid to go to doctors and be in offices but this place has been a different experience. I would recommend anyone to come here. The front desk ladies are helpful and friendly

My fiancé & I was in an accident on 4/16/2024 and since we started treatment at the clinic the staff has been very helpful. They’re very professional, polite& efficient. Dr. Roberts always make sure that she ask us if we’re ok before and after treatment. She also makes sure that we clearly understand the process and answers any question’s or concerns that we may have. I would recommend her to anyone that needs proper treatment after an injury.

Questions about back pain symptoms and care

What happens during the first back pain consultation?

The first consultation covers your symptoms, health history, injury details, and treatment concerns. You’ll discuss when the pain started and how it affects daily movement. The care team then explains possible next steps, which can include chiropractic treatment, medical evaluation, or imaging review. Free initial consultations let you discuss diagnostic needs before choosing care.

Which warning signs need medical attention before chiropractic care?

Severe or changing symptoms need prompt medical attention before routine chiropractic care. New weakness, major numbness, or pain that spreads into the leg can signal a concern involving the nerves. Tell the care team about these changes during intake. Our medical professionals can help assess whether coordinated care or another medical service fits the situation.

When should I bring accident or work injury records?

Bring accident and work injury records at the first visit when you have them. Those records can show the injury history, prior findings, and care already received. They also help our team prepare detailed reports for workplace-related injuries. Photos, claim details, and earlier medical notes can add useful context without replacing the clinical examination.

Why might imaging be reviewed for back pain?

Imaging may be reviewed when clinical findings suggest it could clarify an injury. Images can add context to the health history and spinal examination, but they do not replace those steps. The care team considers the symptoms, physical findings, and injury details together. You can ask which diagnostic information supports each treatment option.

How does chiropractic care differ from physical therapy for back pain?

Chiropractic care focuses on spinal and musculoskeletal assessment with treatment methods selected for the findings. Physical therapy often centers on guided exercise, movement training, and functional recovery. The right choice depends on the injury, symptoms, and clinical needs. Our team can explain the chiropractic options and discuss medical follow-up when another service is more suitable.

What changes the cost of an injury-related back pain visit?

The evaluation needs and services included in your plan drive the cost. A case involving medical evaluation, imaging review, or workplace injury records may require different services than a focused chiropractic visit. We explain upfront pricing and treatment options during the consultation. Free initial consultations let you discuss the scope of care before proceeding.
