Functional medicine consultation for Smyrna patients

Functional medicine consultation gives patients a structured way to discuss concerns that don't fit one body area or one visit type. We review the information you bring, connect it with your health history, and explain which care options fit the discussion.

This page serves patients who want a focused review before choosing next steps. It isn't a substitute for urgent medical care, and it doesn't promise one fixed outcome. Individual response differs, so the right plan depends on your symptoms, history, and goals.

Patients in Smyrna can use this service as part of our broader accident-related care. The same team also evaluates whiplash, neck pain, back pain, and other musculoskeletal concerns when those issues are part of the visit.

  • Bring a symptom journal with dates, patterns, and changes.
  • Gather medical records that relate to your current concerns.
  • Write down every medication and supplement you use.
  • List the health goals you want to discuss.
  • Ask how medical and chiropractic care may work together.

Service Overview

Functional Medicine Consultation is a health review that connects symptoms, medical history, medicines, and personal health goals.

  • This consultation differs from a standard chiropractic visit because it looks beyond one painful area and supports coordinated medical and chiropractic care.
  • Patients in Smyrna can receive this service through our Tennessee care coverage.

What this consultation changes for your care

A written symptom history gives the care team more useful context than a single complaint alone.

Medical and chiropractic concerns can be discussed together when an injury affects more than one system.

Clear treatment option explanations help you understand what each proposed step involves.

Personalized care plans connect the assessment to your stated health goals.

The consultation can help organize questions before further diagnostic or treatment decisions.

Process

How we complete the consultation

1

Record your main concerns

We start with the symptom journal and ask which changes, patterns, or concerns matter most to you.

2

Review your health history

We review medical records, medication information, and relevant past care before discussing the broader picture.

3

Assess current findings

Our medical professionals and chiropractors evaluate symptoms and consider whether further diagnostic needs should be discussed.

4

Explain the findings

We provide a report of findings in plain language and answer questions about the available treatment options.

5

Build the care plan

We create an individualized treatment plan that reflects your needs and may coordinate medical and chiropractic care.

When this service is the right fit

A patient in Smyrna with ongoing neck pain after an accident may use this consultation to organize symptoms, records, medication information, and health goals before discussing coordinated care. The situation remains hypothetical, and the next step is to request a consultation so the care team can review the individual history.

Why patients choose this consultation

A plan tied to your history

Your health history and current concerns shape the discussion, so the plan is built around your needs. A consultation is the wrong fit for a medical emergency that needs immediate hospital care.

Care options explained plainly

Patients receive clear explanations of possible treatment paths, including when chiropractic care or medical evaluation may be relevant.

Integrated injury perspective

Accident-related symptoms can involve the musculoskeletal and neurological systems. Our team considers both when the consultation relates to whiplash, back pain, or another injury.

Dr. Dar’Neshia Roberts and her staff provide top-tier customer service and are super personable, knowledgeable, and always willing to further educate their patients if needed. The team works quickly and efficiently without making you feel rushed, and the clinic is very clean and always smells fresh. While I’m not happy that I got hurt, I’m extremely blessed to have found AIC. This clinic is warm, welcoming, and inclusive, and I truly felt comfortable and respected as a person of color. I highly recommend their services!!!

This place is amazing. The staff is friendly. The office is clean and laid back. Not much of a wait. The doctor walks you through every step and tells you what he’s going to do and has answers any questions I’ve had to the best of his knowledge. Normally I am afraid to go to doctors and be in offices but this place has been a different experience. I would recommend anyone to come here. The front desk ladies are helpful and friendly

Questions about preparing for this consultation

At the outset of the job, how should I prepare for a functional medicine consultation for a residential or commercial job?

A symptom journal is the best starting point for preparation. Bring medical records, a medication list, and written health goals as well.

  • Note when symptoms began and what changes them.
  • List medicines and supplements you use.
  • Mark questions you want answered.

Advanced Injury Care Clinic uses these details to guide the consultation and explain care options.

What should I write in my symptom journal?

A symptom journal should record the concern, when it appears, and what changes it. Include pain location, headaches, activity changes, and other details that seem relevant.

Brief notes are enough. Bring the journal even if the pattern feels incomplete, because the care team can ask follow-up questions during the consultation.

For Functional Medicine Consultation, which records should I bring to the appointment?

Medical records related to your current concern are the most useful documents to bring. Include prior evaluations, imaging reports, treatment notes, and medicine information when available.

Records help our team compare your current symptoms with earlier findings. They also support a more focused discussion about diagnostic needs and care options.

Why does the medication list matter during the consultation?

A medication list shows what you currently take and gives the care team important context. Include prescription medicines, over-the-counter products, and supplements.

Write the name and reason for each item if you know them. Our team reviews this information with your history, but you should keep taking medicines as directed by the prescribing clinician.

Can this consultation address accident-related pain?

Yes, the consultation can discuss accident-related pain as part of a broader medical and chiropractic evaluation. Our team treats concerns such as whiplash, neck pain, back pain, and other musculoskeletal injuries.

Bring accident-related records and note how symptoms have changed. The care team can then explain which evaluation and treatment options fit the findings.

What happens if I only have one main symptom?

One main symptom is enough to start the discussion. The consultation reviews that concern with your health history, medication use, and goals.

A focused concern may reveal related questions about movement, prior injury, or other symptoms. Results vary, so the care plan follows the information gathered during your assessment.
